Music Cloud

Lamp shade designed to mimic the shape and texture of a cloud. This is a special cloud, it can play music though its integrated 2.1 speaker system, react to its environment and can be used as a bed time alarm and wake you up with relaxing sounds in the morning. It's perfect for children too, by using a special "children" mode from the app, it will surely keep your child entertained. It features a mobile application for iOS and Android, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store.

We began thinking about other ways to offer people specific features and aesthetics at a range of price points. We wanted to create something that was more similar to a traditional lamp, something that would be simpler than our interactive Clouds. Working with IKEA hardware we were able to create a system that did exactly that. The threaded sockets of the IKEA hardware allows for not only very easy installation but also a more streamlined production process and thus a more affordable price point. With this in mind we were also able to source a larger size range of moulds to create the Shades. We settled on a range of three sizes; small, medium and large. The range of sizes was the final step in an effort to create a scalable system. By combining a range of sizes into a cloud cluster clients are able to create larger and more organic looking cloud scapes.

IKEA also offers a floor stand and shorter desk stand. Both utilize the same screw socket design of the pendant style cordsets.

All of our pieces are handmade, therefore no two pieces are exactly alike.
